Application:

• Before use, make sure the protective seal on the end of the case is intact. If the seal is broken and the decompression needle has been used before, do not use this kit.
• Rotate the cap to open the case and remove the needle and catheter.
• Determine the point of insertion of the decompression needle. It should be inserted into the right side of the chest, in the intercostal space between the 2nd and 3rd ribs, along the upper edge of the 3rd rib, running vertically from the nipple towards the clavicle.
• Disinfect the insertion site.
• Position the needle at a 90-degree angle relative to the chest and begin to gently insert the needle as far as it will go.
